I draw inspiration from caterpillars, human anatomy, cellular biology, and the flow of energy from the Earth to humans. I try to portray the immense complexity that is overlooked in nature and allude to the connections between time and matter. My oil paintings explore the loss of girlhood, medical trauma, and mother nature.
Through plaster and wood, I have explored forms inspired by caterpillars and cellular division. In the summer of 2023 I had the opportunity to learn lampworking from Mike Shelbo at Pilchuck Glass school. Touching glass for the first time was transformative to my art practice. I felt as if I found the medium I had been searching for for so long.
I am a 20 year old artist originally from Phoenix, Arizona. I am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts at Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle, Washington and a degree in Liberal Studies from Arizona State University.
